Faye Roland Boice Doud "Gigi" passed away peacefully in her home on Friday, March 11, 2016.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter W. Doud; and daughters, Nadine Gilbert, Dixie Gray and Jeanetta Welch.
She is survived by her daughter, Lonita (Sue) Carnahan; grandchildren, Myron Gilbert, Teresa Kite, Paulette McDowell, Jacqueline Bayer, Traci West-Gray, Mason Gray, Dawn Gray-Brooks and Tamijean Mumma; 17 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
Faye was a woman of strong faith. She loved serving her community. Her volunteer work spans across five decades and includes working with underprivileged children, food pantries, hospitals, managing a community outreach program and building churches.
Visitation services will be Friday, March 18, from 4 until 7 p.m. at Cedar Memorial Westside Chapel in Cedar Rapids. Celebration of Life services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, March 19, at the chapel. There will be no graveside service.
Per Gigi's request, please wear fun shoes and colorful bright attire (no black).
