Fay E. Ropa Robinson, 97, of Mechanicsville, died Thursday, Jan. 15, 2015, at Prairie Hills Assisted Living Center, Tipton. Funeral services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 20, at Chapman Funeral Home, Clarence, with the Rev.
William Harnish and the Rev. Barbara Krueger officiating. Burial: Stanwood Cemetery. Visitation: 4 to 6 p.m. Monday, Jan. 19, at the funeral home.
Born Aug. 20, 1917, in Stanwood, Iowa, the daughter of Fred and Winnie Wilkin Ropa, she married Gorman Robinson on Feb. 28, 1941, at her childhood home in Stanwood.
Memorials may be made to Friends of the Animals in Tipton or the Mechanicsville Ambulance or Fire Department.
Fay was past president of the Eastern Iowa Angus Women's Auxiliary and Hillcrest Country Club Ladies Golf. She was a member of the Mechanics-ville Presby-terian Church and Presbyterian Women's Group.
Fay enjoyed traveling and winters spent in Florida.
Survivors include her husband, Gorman; and daughter, Kay (Jack) Robinson of Austin, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her little pal dog, "Muff."
