Fay E. "Jack" Jackman, 81, of Hiawatha, died Monday, Nov. 9, 2015, at Mercy Medical Center. Memorial services at 11 a.m. Friday at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Entombment at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Cedar Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include his son, Brent (Laura); and a granddaughter, Piper Jackman, all of Cedar Rapids; two brothers, Phil and Gerald; and two sisters, Mary and Lola.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lynda; and three brothers, Ed, Dale and Chuck.
Jack was born on Aug. 4, 1934, in Estherville, the son of Lyle and Dorothy Wells Jackman. He married Lynda L. Robison on April 4, 1959, in Des Moines. Lynda passed away in September 2015.
Jack was a telephone manager for Northwestern Bell for over 37 years retiring in 1989. He proudly served in the Army and enjoyed travel, playing golf, puzzles and was a talented artist, painting in oils.
Jack was a wonderful husband, father, brother and grandfather whose memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved him.
