Fankhauser, Amanda C. Dircks
Amanda C. Dircks Fankhauser, 96, of Lisbon, entered into eternal life Saturday, March 30, 2013, at Colonial Manor Nursing Home, Middle Amana. Amanda's funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 4, at Morgan Funeral and Cremation Choices, Mount Vernon. Amanda's visitation from 9 to 10 a.m. Thursday at the chapel. Amanda will be buried in Van Horn Cemetery, rural Lowden.
Survivors include a son, Roy (Dorothy) Fankhauser, Marengo, and his children, Randy and Kevin Fankhauser, Las Vegas; great-grandchildren, Jasmine and Brian Lee Fankhauser, Las Vegas; granddaughter, Lisa Carter Schlabach (Bill), Marengo; great-granddaughter, Amanda Jane Schlabach, Marengo; two grandsons, Vincent Carter, Monticello and Kenneth Carter (Lori) Tiffin; and sister, Nadine LaFranz, Lowden.
Also surviving Amanda are her nieces and nephews, Sam LaFranz, Sara Johnson, Julie Evans and James LaFranz.
Preceding Amanda in death were her parents, Carl and Sophie Hartmann Dircks; husband, Burdette; daughter, Mary Kay Carter; and brother-in-law, Walter LaFranz.
Amanda's joy was her church, where she could worship and sing. She was an excellent gardener and cook. Her life was her family and friends.
