Fahey, Constance 'Connie' Joan
Constance “Connie” Joan Fahey, 65, of Cedar Rapids, died Saturday, March 30, 2013, at Heritage Care Center. Services: 11 a.m. Tuesday at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories, by the Rev. Gayle Wilcox of Lovely Lane United Methodist Church. Interment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Monday from 4 to 6 p.m. at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.
Connie is survived by her sister, Patti Boonstra of Cedar Rapids; and nephew, Dr. Nathan (Kate) Boonstra of Urbandale, and their sons, Samuel and Benjamin.
She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant brother, Richard; and her beloved brother-in-law, Dan Boonstra.
Connie was born Jan. 20, 1948, in Fort Madison, to Wilfred and Ruth Lillian Gunn Fahey. Connie was home schooled and later worked for Options of Linn County. She loved music, especially rock and roll. She will be remembered as a happy and outgoing person. She loved people and liked to be socially involved. Connie brought joy to her family as well as the staff and residents at REM. She was known for her smile and kisses which will be missed by all who loved her.
Memorials may be sent to REM of Iowa or St. Luke's Hospice.
The family would like to especially thank all of Connie's immediate caregivers from REM. Their love for her was apparent in all they did. Connie's family would also like to thank St. Luke's Pallative Care and Hospice staff for their dignified and caring manner.
