F. James "Jim" Deuel, 85, of Iowa City, formerly of Waterloo, Iowa, passed away Monday, Dec. 26, 2016, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 31, at St. Mark's United Methodist Church, 2675 E. Washington St., Iowa City. Visitation will start at 9 a.m. until service time at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a food bank of your choice or the James Deuel Memorial Fund.
Jim is survived by his wife, Beth; three children, Brenda Mayer (Phil Auterman) of Iowa City, Timothy Deuel of Killeen, Texas, and Steven (Flo) Deuel of Ankeny, Iowa; one sister, Mary Lou Everman of Washburn, Iowa; three grandchildren, Christopher Mayer, Jennie Weland and Justin Deuel; two honorary grandchildren, Lucas and Markus VanTol; two great-grandchildren, Matthew Mayer-Rich and Samuel Weland; and many nieces and nephews.
