Everette Lee Parbs, age 83, of Council Bluffs, Iowa, passed away at home on February 23, 2025.
He was born Friday, January 16, 1942, in Iowa City, Iowa to the late Leland and Ethel Parbs. Everette lived most of his adult life in Council Bluffs. He graduated from Urbana High School and went on to become a truck driver, retiring from ABF at the age of 62.
Everette married his wife, Linda Parbs, on September 1, 1962. They welcomed 4 daughters over the next few years. Everette was always there for his wife and his daughters, and then for his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was loved and admired by many and a hero to his girls. He loved old Westerns and football, and you would find one or the other always on his television. He loved being outdoors and teasing the heck out of Shelly, while she took care of him. He will be missed and forever live on through his girls.
Everette was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Linda Parbs in 2018; daughter, Robin Parbs in 1987; 2 brothers: Donald Parbs and Ivan Parbs; 3 sisters: Doris Kubik, Fran Wingfield, and Iva McMullin; sister-in-law, Phyliss Parbs; 2 brothers-in-law, Jerry Kubik and Ray McMullin.
Everette is survived by his 3 daughters: Shelly Parbs of Council Bluffs, Lisa (Jeff) Halbert of Elgin, Illinois, and Charity (Mike) Michelson of Council Bluffs; 3 grandchildren: Chad, Kaylei, and Madison; 3 great-grandchildren: Kambree, Joshua, and Angelina; sister, Gwen (Brian) Heck of Shellsburg, Iowa; sister-in-law, Barb Parbs of Urbana, Iowa; many extended family and friends.
Memorial Visitation: Sunday, March 2, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Bayliss Park Chapel. Memorials will be directed by the family. His wishes for cremation were honored after the memorial visitation.
