Everett Dale Sempf, 91, of Mount Pleasant, died Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2014, at his residence. Services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Church of the Open Bible, 306 N. Cherry St., Mount Pleasant. The Rev. Michael D. Johnson, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Forest Home Cemetery, Mount Pleasant, with graveside military honors conducted by the Henry County Honor Guard. Friends may call from noon to 9 p.m. Thursday at Kimzey Funeral Home, 213 N. Main St., Mount Pleasant. The family will be present to receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday.
Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society.

Dale was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. For 36 years, he was employed at Hannum's Plumbing and Heating in Mount Pleasant.
Survivors include two sons and their wives, Kurt D. and Robin Sempf and Kevin D. and Jill Sempf, both of Cedar Rapids; and three grandchildren, Ryan K. Sempf, Noah D. Sempf and Lauren Sempf, all of Cedar Rapids.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Betty; a daughter, Janice Jean Sempf; two brothers, Lloyd and Cletus Sempf; and a sister, Hazel Feehan.
