Everett Albert Esbaum, 88, passed away Sunday, Oct. 21, 2018, at Wheatland Manor Nursing Home. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 25, at St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Wheatland with visitation from 9 a.m. until service time. Pastor Tessa Cavey will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Paul's Cemetery.
Everett was born in Cedar County, Iowa, to Richard and Erma (Sarby) Esbaum on Aug. 22, 1930. He attended the Bennett school system until his family moved to Lowden. He married Bonnie Klahn on Aug. 12, 1951, at Zion United Church of Christ in Lowden. They celebrated 67 years together.
He is survived by his wife; daughter, Gail (Donovon) Riedesel of Tomah, Wis.; sons, Dan (Becky) of Eldridge, Randy (Debbie) of Cedar Rapids and Steve (Lori) of Olin; 13 grandkids; and 30 great-grandkids.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Terry Esbaum; and brother, Marvin Esbaum.
Everett loved to travel and went to 49 states and three countries with Bonnie. He farmed for 25 years, then moved to Wheatland and drove a semi for 15 years for Smith's Transfer out of Davenport. He then started driving for Kay Elevator of Wheatland until his retirement. His greatest love was spending time with his family.
