EVELYN ZINGULA
Central City
Evelyn Arlene Zingula, 83, of Central City, died Sunday, March 22, 2015. Funeral services: 10:30 a.m.
Thursday, March 26, at Jordan's Grove Baptist Church in Central City by Pastor Steve Russell. Visitation will be from 8:30 to 10 a.m. Thursday at the church. Burial: Jordan's Grove Cemetery, Central City. Arrangements by Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Central City.
Survivors include her son, Curt (Gayle) Zingula of Central City; her grandchildren, Brad (Shannon) Zingula of Rochester, Minn., Elizabeth (Shawn Beilby) Zingula of Manchester, Brian Zingula of Toronto, Canada, and Jennifer Zingula of Central City; great-granchildren, Lucas, Natalie, Katelyn and Megan Beilby; and brothers-in-law, Richard Zingula of Houston, Texas, and Gene Zingula of Marion.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert Zingula; infant son, Chris Andrew Zingula; daughter, Kristi Bobette Zingula; and sister-in-law, Pat Zingula.
Evelyn was born March 25, 1931, the daughter of Emmons and Alma (Traaserud) Tillapaugh in Cedar Rapids. She graduated from Roosevelt High School in Cedar Rapids in 1949. On Nov. 19, 1949, she married Robert V. Zingula at First Lutheran Church in Cedar Rapids. She and Robert farmed for many years in the Central City area and she maintained the farm records.
A great passion in her life was her family's geneaology of which she wrote a book.
She was a member of Jordan's Grove Baptist Church, Marion-Linn DAR Chapter, was Maine Township Clerk, Linn County Farm Bureau county officer, church treasurer, Sunday School teacher, Home Bible study and Youth Leader.
Memorials may be directed to Jordan's Grove Baptist Church, Central City, in Evelyn's memory.
