Evelyn Mae Whetstine, 79, of Iowa City, died Sept. 22, 2015.
She is survived by her four children and their spouses, Cheryl and Craig Manary of Iowa City, Ron and Nancy Whetstine of North Liberty, Deb and Tracy Klein of Solon and Terri Whetstine of Iowa City; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Whetstine; her parents and sister.
Born in Iowa City, Iowa, on Dec. 10, 1935, Evelyn married Robert Whetstine on Aug. 25, 1954, in North Liberty. She worked at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church parttime for 37 years.
Evelyn enjoyed being with her family, the family pet, vacationing in the mountains of Colorado and gardening.
Evelyn was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Private family services will be at Oakland Cemetery.
