Evelyn Louise Studt, 87,
of Hiawatha, formerly of Springville, passed away peacefully Monday, Oct. 8, 2018, at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids. A private family service will take place with burial at Czech National Cemetery, Cedar Rapids. Arrangements by Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Marion.
Evelyn was born Oct. 14, 1930, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Joseph and Eleanor (Konicek) Jiroutek. After high school, she attended St. Luke's School of Nursing, obtaining her nursing degree. Evelyn was united in marriage to Carl John Studt on Aug. 2, 1953, at Hus Memorial Presbyterian Church in Cedar Rapids. She worked for St. Luke's Hospital as a registered nurse for 28 years. Evelyn was a longtime member of the Springville American Legion Auxiliary Post No. 331. She loved being a farm wife, gardening, sewing, playing cards and traveling. Evelyn's greatest joy was spending time with family and friends.
Evelyn is survived by her daughter, Janice (Michael) Daft of Mechanicsburg, Pa.; son, Jon (Judy) Studt of Springville; five grandsons, Dr. Joseph (Sheila) Daft of Cleveland, Tenn., Dr. Paul (Jerri) Daft of Howards Grove, Wis., Matt (Ashley) Studt of Cedar Rapids and Mark and Jacob Studt, both of Ames; and two great-granddaughters, Eisley and Rhemi Studt of Cedar Rapids.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Carl Studt; and parents, Joseph and Eleanor Jiroutek.
