EVELYN "JEAN" LUEDEMAN
Cedar Rapids
Evelyn "Jean" Luedeman, 87, of Cedar Rapids, died Tuesday, July 19, 2016, at St. Luke's Hospital following a short illness. According to Jean's wishes, there will be no services. Private burial will take place at Spring Grove Cemetery, Palo. Teahen Funeral Home is serving the family.
Jean is survived by two sisters, Ann Smith of Phoenix, Ariz., and Twila Filling of Cedar Rapids; brother, William (Vicki) Filling, and brother-in-law, Tom Ritchie, both of Cedar Rapids; stepchildren, Carolyn Luedeman Lang and Carl Luedeman Jr.; and many grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Sr.; two sons, Donnie and Daryle; three brothers and their wives, George (Thelma) Filling, Robert (Nancy) Filling and Fred (Barb) Filling; and one sister, Florie Ritchie.
Evelyn Jean was born on June 2, 1929, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Charles and Pearl Bidder Filling. She married Carl Luedeman on April 22, 1950, in Cedar Rapids. She retired as a lead lady from Turner Microphone.
Jean will be remembered as the fightin' sister who loved chocolate candy and raspberry bismarcks. She enjoyed spending time with her family and her beloved Yorkie.
