Evelyn Lippmann, 93, of Fairfax, Iowa, passed Thursday, March 14, 2024, at Rehabilitation Center of Lisbon. A visitation will be held from 1:30 - 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 23, 2024, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Cedar Rapids. A memorial service will follow at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home with Pastor Randy Kittelson officiating. A reception will follow the memorial service at Concordia Lutheran Church in Cedar Rapids. Private family burial will be held at Anderson Cemetery in Swisher, Iowa.
Evelyn was born July 15, 1930, in Swisher, the daughter of Fred and Emma (Dlouhy) Pirkl. She graduated from Wilson High School. Evelyn worked for Souvenir Pen and Pencil Company in Cedar Rapids until her retirement. She was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church. Mom was a person who loved to spend time in the kitchen to cook, make desserts, and bake cookies and kolaches. Family was very important and a large part of her life. She loved going to all of the concerts, sports, and life celebrations of her grandchildren.
Survivors include her two sons, Larry Lippmann of Cedar Rapids, and Loren (Melissa) Lippmann of Vinton, Iowa; three grandchildren, Bess (Tyler) Johnson, John (Erika) Lippmann, and Emma (Drew) Hays; two great-grandsons, Calvin and Baylor Lippmann; siblings, Mary Ann Dvorak of Fairfax, Iowa, and Hal (Jan) Pirkl of Largo, Florida; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Emma Pirkl; a sister in infancy, Bernice Pirkl; two great-granddaughters; daughter-in-law, Jody Lippmann; and brother-in-law, Ernie Dvorak.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer’s Foundation or the American Cancer Society.
