Evelyn Jeanette Hurt Scott, born Feb. 18, 1935, passed away peacefully on July 13, 2023, in Lisbon, Iowa.

Evelyn worked at Wilson Foods/Farmstead for 27 years and sold life insurance for Modern Woodsman of America for five years. She enjoyed crafts and painting and loved to spend time with her family.
She is survived by four sons and two daughters, Steve (Jan) Rushford, Terry (Pam) Rushford, Arnie (Lori) Rushford, Dan (MaryJane) Rushford, Sheree Garside and Dawn Chapman; three stepchildren, Joe (Tammy) Scott, Laura Jones and Angie (Matt) Weldy; 14 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jessie Long Hurt and John Edward Hurt; brothers, Howard, Hurt, Charley Hurt, Dowell Hurt, Ted and their spouses; sisters, Dorothy Hurt, Roberta Lacey, Alma Nickels and their spouses; a grandson, Ben; and husband, Eldon Scott.
There will be a private burial and Celebration of Life.
Instead of sending flowers, Evelyn wanted others to honor and celebrate her life, by donating to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in her memory.
