Evelyn M. Fuelster, 93, of Manchester, died Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2018. Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 13, at Bohnenkamp-Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Manchester. Funeral services:
1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 14, at the funeral home. Burial: Oakland Cemetery, Manchester.
Evelyn was born May 19, 1925, in Morrison, Ill., the daughter of Ray George and Eleanor Elizabeth (Osborn) Diehl. She graduated from Moline High School in 1943 and worked at the Moline Public Library. On Feb. 27, 1949, Evelyn was united in marriage to Carl W. Fuelster in Moline, Ill. The couple moved to Cedar Falls, where Evelyn worked at the American News Co. in Waterloo. After moving to Manchester in 1950, she worked for Holder's Locker Plant, the Manchester Press, and as a secretary at West Delaware Junior High and Middle School until retirement in 1986.
Evelyn was a member of poker and bridge card clubs, C.A.C. Mothers' Club, and enjoyed sewing and puzzles. She also sang in the Messiah Chorus for many years.
Evelyn is survived by two daughters, Karen (Jon) Worden of Manchester and Kathy Fuelster of Cedar Rapids; a sister-in-law, Freida Bootz of Niles, Ill.; and nieces and nephews.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Fuelster, in January 2008; her parents, Ray and Eleanor Diehl; one brother, Robert Diehl; and one sister, Helen Diehl.
