EVELYN COAKLEY Marion Evelyn Ruth Coakley died peacefully in her sleep at the age of 94 on Sunday, Feb. 8, 2015, at Winslow House Care Center in Marion. Funeral services: 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 13, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Marion. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Graveside services: 2 p.m. Friday at Mount Olivet Cemetery near Dubuque. Survivors include her children, Michael Hanlon, Tampa, Fla., William (Rene) Hanlon, Anamosa, Maria (Tom) Davison, Cedar Rapids, John (Mary) Hanlon, Sarasota, Fla., George (Susan) Hanlon, Tampa, Fla., and Daniel (Kathie) Hanlon, Cedar Rapids. Also surviving are eight grandchildren, Andrea (John) BeGuhn, Cedar Rapids, Michelle (Jeff) Pappas, Cedar Rapids, Melanie (Rick) Clendenen, Cedar Rapids, Heather (Barrett) Simms, Denver, Colo., Jonathan Hanlon, Sydney, Australia, Jared Hanlon, Tampa, Fla., Corinne Volpe, St. Petersburg, Fla., and Candace O'Donnell, Anamosa; nine great-grandchildren, Zachery, Dylon and Keegan Pappas, Cody and Shannon Clendenen, Ember Hanlon, Andrew Powell and Madeline and Scarlett Simms; a niece, Sharon Huseman of Minnesota; several nieces and nephews; and a close family friend, Lynne Hanlon. She was preceded in death by her parents; both of her husbands; a sister, Lorraine McKeown; a brother-in-law, Lewis McKeown; and one grandchild, Jamie O'Donnell. Evelyn was born June 10, 1920, the daughter of William and Anna (Wagner) Henschel in Homewood, Ill. She graduated from Dubuque Senior High School. Evelyn married John D. Hanlon on June 20, 1942. They were married for 28 years. She married Wilfred Coakley on May 22, 1973, in Galena, Ill. When asked how she wanted to be remembered, Evelyn said she was proud of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
