Evelyn L. Carano, 87, of Cedar Rapids, died unexpectedly Wednesday, May 24, 2017, at West Ridge Care Center. Services: 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Patrick Catholic Church, by the Rev. Ivan Nienhaus. Burial: St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family after 9 a.m. Saturday at the church.
Evelyn is survived by her daughter, Linda (J Paul) Meyeraan; two sons, Richard (Mary Ellen) Carano and Douglas (Tina) Carano; brother, Henry DiDomenico; eight grandchildren, Ross, Kurt, Anthony, Anna, Kathryn, John, Samantha and Dominic; two great-grandchildren, Jaxon and Kolton; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and sister, Viola Offret.
Evelyn Louise was born June 7, 1929, in Akron, Ohio, the daughter of Cosmo and Rose Carano DiDomenico. She married Harry Carano on May 7, 1949.
Memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer's Association or to the family to be distributed at a later date.
