Eva M. Taggart, 75, of Cedar Rapids, passed away, Monday, June 10, 2024. Visitation: 9-11 AM, Friday, June 14, 2024, at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Funeral Service: 11:00 AM, Friday, June 14 at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Interment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Eva was born on October 29, 1948, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of James P. and Valerie (Parsons) Shannon. She was retired from the United States Postal Service. Eva was obsessed with Elvis Presley. She was proud of her Irish heritage. Eva loved her animals and enjoyed her close-knit group of friends. She adored the people to whom she was close.
Survivors include her son Jason (Sara Smith) Taggart of Cedar Rapids; grandchildren Alyson (Ryan) Ralfs, Edie (Jhonny) Rodriguez, Paul Marin, Ulysess Marin, Juliette Marin, Ashley Yuza, Alice Messier, Skylar Messier, Alex Messier, and Sabrina Messier; great-grandchildren Isabella Rodriguez, Everly Ralfs, Roman Rodriguez, Beckham Ralfs, Vivienne Rodriguez, and several others; and her beloved cat Gus.
Preceding her in death were her parents; grandparents; grandsons Travis Taggart and Zachary Taggart; and brother Patrick Shannon.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.
