Eva D. Kray, 96, of Anamosa, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 24, 2024, in Anamosa. Memorial Visitation 1:00 pm, Thursday, August 29, 2024, until the time of the 2:00 pm Memorial Service at First Congregational Church, 107 E. 1st St, Anamosa, IA 52205. Interment will be private.
She was born on May 17, 1928, in Russell, to Tisae and Gladys (Kells) Baker. Eva attended Schools at Russell, Batavia and graduated from Anamosa High School. She belonged to First Congregational Church in Anamosa and helped with luncheons and skits created by Scott Kelly. Eva married Gerhard “Gabe” Kray in 1946 and to this union they were blessed with their daughter Karla Dawn in 1947. They farmed in the early years of marriage and Eva then worked at Reliance Shirt Factory and retired from Rockwell Collins in 1982.
Eva is survived by her daughter Karla and dear friends, Scott (Holly) Kelly: and a loving step-family; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded into death by her husband Gabe; her parents; her siblings, Opal Jeanette Baker, Wilma Walton and Betty Lubben; sons-in-law, Larry G. Meyer and Thomas E. Jensen: and brothers-in-law, Robert Walton and Alvin Lubben.
Karla would like to thank pastors, Holly Knouse, Kris and Jim May, Dr. Kilburg, JRMC ER and EMT’s, Anamosa Care Center and a special thank-you to Kris Parmenter, Above and Beyond Hospice and Scott and Holly Kelly.
