EUNICE "MICKEY" EMMERT

Eunice M. "Mickey" Emmert, 82, a resident of Living Center West in Cedar Rapids, died there Friday, Sept. 5, 2014, after a long illness. Per Mickey's request there will be no visitation or service. Iowa Cremation is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include a daughter, Susan (Emmert) and James Orris of Monticello; a son, Brian Scott (Rena) Emmert of South Amana; her grandchildren, Jeff and Aimee Orris, Jodi (Orris) and Brian Suthers, Joni (Orris) and Mark Evans, Jamie and Jeanna Orris and Katie and Tessa Emmert; her great-grandchildren, Jake and Gabe Orris, Masten Orris and Adam Schmitt, Courtney Westphal and Jayna, Jilyana and Jesalyn Orris.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Eunice was born Sept. 18, 1931, in Anamosa, the daughter of Albert and Elsie Anderson Mott. She attended Wyoming Independent School in Wyoming, Iowa, and graduated in 1949. She married Walter "Buck" Emmert on Nov. 18, 1949, in Anamosa. Buck died in 2004.
Mickey worked at Rockwell Collins for over 30 years and enjoyed the friendship of many of her co-workers over the years. Mickey knew she was very fortunate to have had several good friends and just the best sisters-in-law who took good care of her in her later years and visited her often.
A memorial has been established.
