EUNICE BENDER

Eunice W. Bender, 94, a resident of the Lutheran Home in Vinton, died there Thursday, April 17, 2014, after a brief illness. Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home after 10 a.m. Saturday.
Survivors include a nephew, Jim Bender of Marion; three nieces, Ann, Earlene and Carolyn; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers.
Eunice was born Aug. 26, 1919, in Jackson County, Iowa, the daughter of William and Anna Bruns Bender. She was in sales at Sears and retired from there after more than 27 years of service.
Eunice was a member of the Lutheran Church.
She enjoyed crafts, baking, playing golf, reading and was an avid Cubs fan.
Throughout her life she had been a loving caregiver to those people who were important in her life.
She was a wonderful lady who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
A memorial fund has been established in Eunice's name.
