Eugene Thomas "Tom" Lennie, Jr., 69, of Luzerne, IA, passed away peacefully at home on September 20, 2025. He was born July 12, 1956, in Marshalltown, IA, to Eugene Sr. and Marlis Lennie and raised in Tama. Tom retired in 2000 after 27.5 years with Union Pacific Railroad.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 51 years, Diane (Yilek) Lennie; sons Ben (Melissa), Nicholas (Amy), Curt (Sara), and Eric (Michelle); eight grandchildren, Kaydn, Colby, Kayla, Emma, Addison, Sydney, Kenna, Greyson; and sisters Cheryl Bowden, Candi Howell, and Dawn Vest. He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings Sandra, Bruce, Kevin, Debbie, and beloved dog Sam.
Tom loved woodworking, fishing, camping, and especially time with family.
A visitation will be held at Hrabak-Neuhaus Funeral Service, Belle Plaine, Sunday, September 28, 2025 from 10:30 AM–1:30 PM, with a celebration of life to follow at the Masonic Lodge, Belle Plaine from 2:00–5:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to a charity of choice. Online condolences can be sent to the family at www.neuhausfuneralservice.com.
