Eugene L. "Gene" Schultz, 83, of Edgewood, Iowa, died Monday, March 16, 2015, at the Regional Medical Center, Manchester, Iowa.
Gene is survived by his wife of 62 years, Verla Schultz of Edgewood; one son, Newell Schultz of Gulfport, Miss.; two grandchildren, Michael and Staci; one great-grandson, Marcus; one sister, Mary Lee Farmer of Marion; one niece and one nephew; and two sisters-in-law, Helen Downey and Jeanette Gibson, both of Edgewood.
The family requests memorials in lieu of flowers.

Funeral service with military rites: 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 21, at Trinity United Methodist Church, Edgewood, Iowa, with Pastor Mike Jackson officiating. Visitation: after 1 p.m. on Friday, March 20, at Leonard-Muller Funeral Home, Edgewood, Iowa. Inurnment: at a later date, Edgewood Cemetery, Edgewood, Iowa.
