EUGENE DELOY SCHATZLE
Cameron, Mo.
Eugene Deloy Schatzle, 92, of Cameron, Mo., formerly of Kansas City, passed away Sunday, Nov. 13, 2016, at the Missouri Veterans Home in Cameron, Mo. Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 17, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Marion. Funeral service: 10:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 18, at the funeral home. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Eugene was born April 30, 1924, in Central City, Iowa, the son of Albert and Bessie (Barker) Schatzle. He graduated from Alburnett High School in 1942. Eugene served in the U.S. Army during World War II. On July 19, 1946, he married Marjorie "Marge" Stahly. She passed away in 2003. Eugene farmed for 10 years in Iowa, worked at Kenworth Truck and retired from General Motors in Kansas City. He was a member of the VFW, United Auto Workers Union No. 31 and the Parkhill Christian Church in Kansas City. He was a former member of Alburnett Christian Church.
Eugene is survived by his daughter, Patricia (Frank) Judge of Trimble, Mo.; grandsons, Tony (Eva) Smith and Chris (Teresa) Smith and their families; and two sisters, Mary Strief of Marion and Martha (John) Morris of Center Point.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marge; son, David; parents; brother, Lester; two sisters, Mae Crosby and Lucille Estling; brother-in-law, Norm Strief; and sister-in-law, Pauline Schatzle.
Memorial donations may be made to Alburnett Christian Church or the Veterans Home in Cameron.
