of the Resurrection, 3500 29th Ave., Marion, Iowa, followed by a luncheon. Interment will held at 1:30 p.m. at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery with military honors.
Gene was born Feb. 22, 1937, in Strawberry Point, Iowa, the son of Marion and Hannah (Wolf) Johnson. Gene grew up in Strawberry Point and was a graduate of Strawberry Point High School. After graduation he began working at Collins Radio and then went into the Navy Reserves serving honorably for two years.

Gene was a loyal employee for Rockwell Collins and worked as a supervisor from 1955 until 1999. He was a member of Lutheran Church of the Resurrection for many years. After retirement, Gene and Bev spent 18 winters at Palm Shadows in Donna, Texas.
A few of Gene's passions were fishing, golfing, gardening and spending time with his beloved family. He considered his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren his greatest legacy and enjoyed visiting them often.
