Eugene H. Anton, 80, of Coggon, passed away Wednesday, July 29, 2015, at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids.
He was born on Jan. 6, 1935, on a farm near Strawberry Point, the son of Henry William and Zinita Irene (Ash) Anton. Eugene was raised and educated in the area and graduated from Strawberry Point High School. Eugene served honorably in the U.S. Army from 1957 to 1959. On April 28, 1962, Eugene was united in marriage to Judy Kruger at the Little Brown Church. After their marriage, they lived near Edgewood until 1966, when they moved to Coggon. He began working at Iowa Manufacturing in Cedar Rapids, until his retirement.
Survivors include his wife, Judy Anton of Coggon; one son, Shawn (Jennie) Anton of Fulton, Ill.; his two beloved grandchildren, Natalie and Noah Anton; and a sister, Virginia (Jerry) Bellrichard of Grapevine, Texas.
