Eugene L. Ableidinger, 86, of Eau Claire, Wis., formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2014, in Eau Claire. Services are pending with Lenmark Gomsrud Linn Funeral & Cremation Services, Eau Claire.
Survivors include his wife, Rosella Schulner of Eau Claire; his children, Jill Ableidinger Johnston of Cedar Rapids and Jay (Donna) Ableidinger of Littleton, Colo.; and sisters, Bonnie and Sandy of Wisconsin and Carol of Arizona.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise; parents, and brother, Dennis.
Eugene was born June 28, 1928, in Wisconsin, to LaVerne and Lucille Ableidinger. After school, he entered the grocery business, and remained employed in that field up until the time of his retirement from Nash Finch Co. His work in the grocery field took him from Wisconsin to Minnesota and eventually to Iowa, where he lived up until 1998. In 1998, he moved back to Wisconsin, where he resided up until the time of his death.
Eugene was united in marriage to the former Louise Bautch, and they had two children, Jay and Jill. Louise passed away in 1986, and Eugene married Rosella Schulner in 1998.
