Survivors include her daughter, Lynn (Dave) Anders of Cedar Falls; a sister, Barbara Burreson of Waterloo; a granddaughter, Brooke Lawrence of Waterloo; a grandson, Matthew Anders of Wichita, Kan.; a great-grandson, Bradyn Lawrence of Waterloo; and several dear nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter; three brothers; and one sister. Ethel was born on March 25, 1929, in Decorah, the daughter of Melvin and Mabel Blekeberg Lien. She married Walter W. Deck on March 29, 1947, in Decorah. Walter passed away in 1989. Ethel worked in assembly at Rockwell Collins and retired from there after more than 32 years of service. She was a member of IBEW and a faithful member of Zion Lutheran Church, where she was active in their Altar Guild. Ethel enjoyed crocheting, crafts and going to garage sales and to the casino. Her greatest joy, however, was the time spent with her beloved family and many, many friends. Her memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved her. A memorial fund has been established.
