EVELYN H KNOTT ETCHINGHAM

Dec. 24, 1919 - Jan. 30, 2012

Known by those who loved her as “Evie”, was born in Parlin, N.J., and passed away peacefully at her most recent residence in Peoria, Ariz. In the 1940s Evie met her husband, Gilbert, in New York City. Gilbert preceded her in death 32 years ago. Also preceding her death was her beloved grandson, J Michael O'Toole, who passed away this past summer with whom she shared a passion for golf.

She is survived by both of her children, her daughter, Susan of Laguna Beach, Calif. (husband Nick O'Toole); and her son, Ron of Glendale, Ariz., (wife Marilyn).

She is also survived by her three grandchildren, G Taylor (Laguna Beach) and Brad and Kim of Arizona; and her six great-grandchildren, all from Arizona, Logan, Lauren, Lindsey, Luc, Wyatt and Martin.

Evie will be remembered for loving the sun, the games of bridge and golf. Evie loved her time in Cedar Rapids, and tried to live her life to the fullest, even in her final days.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 29, at Cedar Memorial Cemetery, 4200 First Ave. NE, Cedar Rapids.
