Esther Mae Novotny, 98, of Cedar Rapids, died at Living Center West on Monday, April 7, 2014, after a long illness. Family services will be held at a later date. Burial: Mount Calvary Cemetery. Teahen Funeral Home is serving the family.
Esther is survived by a son, David (Carol) of Hatfield, Pa.; three daughters, Carol Novotny and Mary Wagner of Cedar Rapids and Margaret (Don) Manderschied of Temecula, Calif.; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; and a sister, Patti Hoffman of Cedar Rapids.
Esther was born Jan. 9, 1916, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Otto and Margaret (Murphy) Klassen. She was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church.
