Esbaum, Evelyn R.
Evelyn R. Esbaum, 104, of Lowden, died Friday, Jan. 4, 2013, in the Clarence Nursing Home. Funeral services: 10:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 7, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Lowden, by the Rev. Victor Young. Burial: church cemetery. Friends may call one hour before service time at the church.
Born Sept. 22, 1908, in Clinton County, the daughter of George and Emma (Hamdorf) Knoche, she married Albert Esbaum on Sept. 17, 1931, in Rock Island, Ill. He died Jan. 1, 1987.
Evelyn was the oldest member in the town of Lowden as well as at Trinity Lutheran Church.
Survivors include three sons, Gaylon, Beryl (Diane), and Denslow (Jean), all of Lowden; two daughters,
Priscilla Rixe of Tipton and Paulette Riedesel of Sun City, Ariz.; sister, Marjore Hadley of Kingman, Ariz.; daughters-in-law, Brenda Esbaum of Lowden and Dolores Esbaum of Davenport; 14 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sons, Larry and Douglas; a brother; a sister; two grandchildren; two sons-in-law and a daughter-in-law.
