Eryn Blaise Didier-Curtis, 39, of Marion, died Sunday, April 11, 2021, at St. Luke's Hospital following a pulmonary embolism.
Service: 3 p.m., Monday at Teahen Funeral Home by Chaplain Joe Kane. Friends may visit with the family from 1 p.m. until the time of service. Per COVID-19 guidelines, attendees are required to wear masks and practice social distancing.
Eryn is survived by her husband, Matt; seven children, Dayton, Austin, Briella, Violet, Elsie, Ronan and Maverick; her parents, Mary and Karl Clapp of Marion; sisters, Kelley (Isaac) DeLong of Belle Plaine and Leslie (Steven) Mariette of Cedar Rapids; grandmother, Elsie Swehla of Spillville; mother and father-in-law, Pat and Fran Didier of Marion; brother-in-law, Dan (Jessica) Didier of Cedar Rapids; sister-in-law, Laura Didier (Andy Mills) of Marion; nieces and nephews, Liliahnah, Evangeline, Mirabella, Josiah, Norah, Selah, Logan, Tayler and Isabella; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents Darlene Bateman and Leland (Sandy) Clapp; and her grandpa, Dan Swehla.
Eryn was born Jan. 24, 1982, in Frankfurt, Germany, the daughter of Karl and Mary Swehla Clapp. She graduated from Linn-Mar High School in 2000. On April 19, 2003, she married Shawn Curtis in Cedar Rapids. The couple later divorced. On Aug. 22, 2008, she married Matthew Didier at Noelridge Park in Cedar Rapids.
Eryn loved spending time with her family. She was known for giving her children unconditional love and being the most caring soul. She had an unforgettable laugh, smile and was always there to give a warm hug. She had a special gift of making each person she was with feel like the most important person in the world. She liked baking, cooking and anything that was green. She was known for throwing wonderful parties that would showcase her imaginative creativity. She also liked the experience of going out and all the variety of foods and cultures to choose from. Eryn enjoyed growing up in the foothills of the Rockies in Colorado Springs. Her mom and dad would take her hiking in the Rockies with her sister and they would visit the Garden of the Gods.
