Ervin Robert Kamaus, 87, of Cedar Rapids, passed away on Saturday, April 14, 2018, at Northside Hospital in Atlanta, Ga. Services will be held on Saturday, April 21, at 1 p.m. at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.
Ervin Robert Kamaus was born on June 9, 1930, the son of Henry and Grace (Shepherd) Kamaus. Ervin was united in marriage to his second wife, Joyce Simmons. He served in the U.S. Army in the Korean War. Ervin, throughout his life, worked as a machinist, dairy farmer and logger, and owned a tavern in Cedar Rapids. He also enjoyed traveling all over the world with his wife, Joyce. He also enjoyed reading.
Ervin was preceded in death by his parents, and two children in infancy.
Left to cherish Ervin's memories are his wife, Joyce Kamaus of Anamosa; daughter, Christie (John) Haack of Georgia; four stepdaughters, Debbra Zumbach of Anamosa, Donna Galland of Colorado, Dianne Galland of Cedar Rapids and Deena Jackson of Cedar Rapids; three grandsons, Phillip Haack, Matthew Haack and Michael Haack; and three great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family has respectfully requested that any memorial contribution be made to the Cedar Valley Humane Society.
