ERNEST HOWARD "BIG E" GRIFFIN
West Liberty
Ernest Howard "Big E" Griffin, 60, passed away peacefully Monday, Oct. 31, 2016, at his home in West Liberty. A celebration of life will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 12, at the American Legion in West Liberty. Henderson-Barker Funeral Home in West Liberty is in charge of arrangements. Ernest was born June 3, 1956, in Cedar Rapids. In his early years, he was a semi truck driver, worked in construction and for the last 14 years had been employed at the US Cellular Center in Cedar Rapids. He enjoyed photography, playing cards, hunting and fishing.
He is survived by eight children, James (Tara) Griffin of Marion, Bobby Brown of Springfield, Mo., John Griffin of Cedar Rapids, Nicole (John) Seeman of Harper, Candi (Ben) Hegenbart of Colorado Springs, Colo., Nicholas (Tricia) Griffin of Santa Fe, N.M., Jacob Griffin of Colorado Springs and Jacqualine Griffin of Santa Fe; mother, C. Nadine Sedam of West Liberty; two sisters, Crystal Griffin of Muscatine and Charlotte (Craig) Juergens of West Liberty; 17 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, stepfather and a brother.
