Erma Davis, 95, of Volga, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Sunday morning, Sept. 14, 2014.
Survivors include her two sisters, Eunice Brand and Elgene Howard from Central, Iowa; three children, Paul (Helena) Davis of Volga, Jean Driver and Joyce (Ralph) Funkhouser; and two grandchildren, Paula (Charles) Pedersen and Laura (William) Davidson, all from Illinois.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin Davis; and two brothers, Elvin and Elmore Alwes.
Erma was born Dec. 11, 1918, and married Edwin Davis in January 1948. Her hobbies were sewing, quilt making, stamp collecting and gardening. She was a charter member of Ascension Lutheran Church in El Paso, Texas, and a charter member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Marion, Ill. She had been a member of St. Paul Lutheran in Volga since her return to Iowa in 1974.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 20, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Volga, with visitation one hour before the service. Burial will follow the services at Hillcrest Cemetery, Volga.
