Engelken, Albert L.
Albert L. Engelken, 82, of Dyersville, died Monday, Feb. 15, 2010, in Allen, Texas. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Kramer Funeral Home, Dyersville, where a parish scripture service will be held at 4 p.m. and an American Legion service will be held at 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Francis Xavier Basilica, Dyersville, with burial in the church cemetery. The Rev. Phil Kruse will officiate and the Rev. Thomas McAndrew will concelebrate. Military rites will be accorded by American Legion Post 137.
Surviving are his wife, Inez; four children, Mike (Cora) of Sterling, Va., Barb (Don) Doudna of Cedar Rapids, Tom of Allen, Texas, and Jim (Julie) of Durango, Colo.; eight grandchildren, Andrew (Michelle), Kevin and Emily Engelken, Mari (Tim) Lewis, Matt and Bart Doudna, and Jared and Jenna Engelken; a brother, Joe (Viola) Engelken of Manchester; and a sister-in-law, Karen Engelken of Wauwatosa, Wis.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his parents-in-law, Joe and Henrietta Wegmann; three brothers, Lawrence, Clarence (Eileen) and Don Engelken; and a sister, Mary Ann (Ambrose) Mensen.
