Engelbart, Connie Lee
Connie Lee Engelbart, 62, of Anamosa, died Tuesday, July 26, 2011, at her home surrounded by family. Visitation will be Friday, July 29, from 4 to 7 p.m., with a Scripture reading at 7 p.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Anamosa. A Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 30, at the church by Father Dave Ambrose. A private inurnment will be at a later date. Iowa Cremation is assisting with arrangements.
Constance Lee Engelbart was born Dec. 23, 1948, in Anamosa, to Henry and Margaret (Leonard) Onken. She married Ed Engelbart on May 25, 1968, in Anamosa. She baby-sat for many children, worked at Kouba Pharmacy and then was a nurse at the Abbe Center for many years.
Connie was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and Fawn Creek Country Club. She loved special time with grandchildren, her time at church teaching religious education and prayer circle or giving communion.
She is survived by her husband, Ed; a daughter, Kim Easterly, and a son, Kurt Engelbart, both of Anamosa; siblings, Jack (Suzie) Onken, Diane (Bob Felton) Shoon, Sherry Middelkauf, Cindy (Rene) Pearson, Pam Bright, Judy Haas, Pat (Tammy) Haas and Gary (Lou) Haas; five grandchildren, Stephanie (James) Conmey, Katie, Jacey, Mason and Brody Easterly; and special aunts, Leona Onken, Linda Norton and Lorraine Leonard.
Connie was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Kathy; her parents; stepfather; mother-in-law; a brother, a sister and two infant brothers.
