Enfield, Richard D. 'Rich'
Richard D. “Rich” Enfield, 74, of Iowa City, died Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2010, at Mercy Hospice in Iowa City. Funeral services will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at First Mennonite Church in Iowa City, with Pastor Jerleen Schlesser officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Lensing's Oak Hill, 210 Holiday Rd. in Coralville and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church. Burial is scheduled for 2 p.m. at Wellman Cemetery in Wellman.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Iowa City Hospice or Immanuel Lutheran Church, P.O. Box 117, Mediapolis, IA 52637.
Rich is survived by his wife, Elaine; son, Rick Enfield (Brenda) of Cedar Rapids; and daughter, Tina (Terry) Chapman of North Liberty; 15 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; stepsons, Gene Nissley (Pat) of Iowa City, John Nissley (Sandy) of Iowa City, Terry Nissley (Denise) of Lacy, Wash., and Randy Nissley (Deb) and Mervin Nissley, both of Hills; sister, Gerrie Enfield of Burlington, Iowa; brothers- and sisters-in-law, Sam Rathmel (Cora Marie) of Knoxville, Iowa, Rita Rathmel of Gravois Mills, Mo., Paul Bowers (Mary Lou) of Iowa City, Don DeFosse (Barb) of Mediapolis, Marlene Fleming of Morning Sun, Jean Kobus (Dean) of San Antonio, Texas; a magnitude of nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, Domino.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Freida; his wife, Nancy; a brother, Charles; and a stepson, Kevin.
