Emogene Christina Stiff, 94, of Tipton, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at Cedar Manor Nursing Home in Tipton. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at the First United Church of Christ in Tipton at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be held from 9:00–11:00 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will take place at a later date in the Rochester Cemetery. Online condolences may be shared at www.fryfuneralhome.com.
Emogene was born on May 11, 1931, to Raymond and Grace (Achey) Wehde. She graduated from Tipton High School in 1949. On July 24, 1949, Emogene was united in marriage to Dale Stiff at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. She was a member of the First United Church of Christ in Tipton for many years, as well as the Women’s Fellowship.
Emogene, along with her husband Dale, enjoyed dancing, fishing, camping, golfing, and spending winters in Texas. She had a love for baking, sewing for family and friends, and collecting costumes to be shared on a moment’s notice.
Emogene is survived by her sons, Doug (Kim) Stiff of Tipton, Iowa, Kim (Karen) Stiff of Tipton, Iowa, Scott (Lori) Stiff of Wellsville, Kansas, and daughter, LuAnn (Doug) Davis of Tipton, Iowa; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and sisters-in-law, Jeneane Stiff of Tipton, Iowa, and Sharon Stiff of Rochester, Iowa.
Emogene was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dale; grandson, Justin Stiff; and sister, Joyce McLearn.
The family would like to express their appreciation to the caring staff at Cedar Manor Nursing Home and St. Croix Hospice.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First United Church of Christ in Tipton.
