Emny Johnson, 95, of Walker, Iowa, died Monday, Nov. 17, 2014, at Vinton Lutheran Home, Vinton. Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 21, at First Christian Church, Center Point, conducted by the Rev. Melanie Van Weelden. Family will greet friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 20, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Center Point. Burial: Center Point Cemetery.
Survivors include her son, Marvin (Karen) Johnson of Walker; 10 grandchildren; and numerous loved great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and sons-in-law, William Vozenilek and Marvin McArthur, both of Walker.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Loren; two daughters, Dolores Vozenilek and Linda McArthur; and granddaughter, Deanna Holsinger.
Emny was born Nov. 3, 1919, in Alburnett, Iowa, daughter of Mary (Ludwick) Kilell. She attended high school in Cedar Rapids. Emny worked at the family grocery store and as a nanny. On Oct. 15, 1938, she married Loren Johnson in Newton, Iowa. She then worked for Center Point Canning factory and farmed with her husband and raised dairy cattle. Emny was a member of the First Christian Church, CWF and an original member of the Plain Park County Club. She enjoyed sewing, embroidering and cooking.
