Aileen passed away at Taylor House on May 18, 2018, just 28 days shy of her 100th birthday.

Aileen was born in Des Moines to Millard and Amanda Frazier on June 15, 1918. and was a 1936 graduate of East High School. She married R.M. (Mel) Boggs in 1939 and became a homemaker, raising their two children, Steve and Donna. After the children were grown, she worked in the chaplain's office at Iowa Methodist Hospital. In 1968, Mel opened R.M. Boggs Co., a mechanical contracting business in Iowa City, and she and Mel worked together in that business until their retirement in 1995.

Aileen was a kind, loving, caring and interested companion. When she asked "How are you," it wasn't a passing salutation, it was a very serious question for her, and she hoped for a candid reply, one she could absorb, think on, pray on and follow up on. Her concern, hope, best wishes and ongoing attention and support were always appreciated and will be missed by many.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Hugh Frazier; daughter, Donna Hemer; and her husband, Mel.

Aileen is survived by her son, Steve (Fran); cherished son-in-law, Doug (Paula) Hemer; niece, Dianne Glanzer; five grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

The family would like to thank the staff and volunteers at Taylor House for the exceptional care given, not only to Aileen, but to all who pass through their facility.

Memorials may be given to the Taylor House or the Good Samaritan Fund at Wesley Acres.

A family celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
