Emily Beck, 91, of Marion, passed away Monday, March 15, 2021, at St. Luke's Hospice, Cedar Rapids. A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date. Arrangements by Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Marion.
Survivors include her five children, Ellen "Sis," Carl, George, Richard "Rick" and Charles "Chuck;" many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; friends, Irene and Rita; and many extended family members.
Emily Mae Sundberg was born March 2, 1930, in Centerville, Iowa, to Albert and Pearley (Nichols) Sundberg. The family then moved to Ohio. Emily moved back to Iowa when her first of five children was born, and migrated between Iowa and Ohio over the years. She worked in nursing homes as a nurse's aide, locally at Meth-Wick. She enjoyed raising rabbits and goats on the acreage for many years. Emily enjoyed crocheting, knitting, and completing puzzle books. Until her illness, she recently worked at the McDonald's in Marion where she loved helping her co-workers and customers. She was friendly, but not afraid to tell you how it was.
She was preceded in death by her parents and three siblings.
