Emil Francis Bisinger Jr., 82, of Walker, passed away Saturday, Dec. 10, 2016, after a short illness. Visitation: 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 16, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Marion. Funeral service: 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 16, at the funeral home.
Emil is survived by his sons, Eric (Mary) Bisinger, and their children, Steffanie and Zackary, and Brad (fiancee, Sherry Sackett) Bisinger; brother, Robert (Jean) Bisinger; sister, Harriett Jean Strait; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father in 1954; mother in 1999; and by his maternal and paternal grandparents.
Emil was born Nov. 8, 1934, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Emil Francis Bisinger and Lucille Bisinger Olsen. In 1952, he graduated from McKinley High School in Cedar Rapids. Emil joined the Air Force in November 1952 and was honorably discharged in November 1956. He then attended the University of Iowa. Emil was an electrician by trade and a member of the IBEW Local 405 for 55 years. He also was a member of the American Legion Post No. 298 of Marion. Emil was an avid fisherman and hunter in his spare time.
