Emery "Glen" Cobb, 96, passed away on Oct. 30, 2021, at his home in North English surrounded by family.
Glen is survived by his wife of 76 years, Hazel; a granddaughter, Jennie (Tim) Reeves and great-granddaughter, Rachael Reeves of Knoxville, Iowa; a great-granddaughter, Hazel (Colton) Rabe, and a great-great-granddaughter, Maise Rabe, and great-great-grandson, Grady Rabe of Blairstown, Iowa; a great-grandson, Beck Bouslog of Oceanside, Calif.; and many nieces and nephews.
Glen was preceded in death by his daughters, Glenalee Anderson and Mary Bouslog; a son, Robert "Bobby" Cobb; and a grandson, Jared Bouslog.
Glen was born June 12, 1925, to S.S. and Lila Cobb of North English, Iowa. He joined the U.S. Navy in 1944 and married Hazel Wade on March 29, 1945. After serving in the Navy, he returned home and farmed for over 40 years southwest of North English in the White Pigeon area. In 1990, he retired and moved to North English. He enjoyed fishing, playing cards, hunting, dancing and staying busy. He was an independent man but also enjoyed helping other and volunteering at the Community Center.
He was very grateful for the many friendships he had made in his lifetime, the support from his family, the generosity of his neighbors, and the love, support and dedication of his wife who was always by his side.
A special thank-you to the Essence of Life Hospice and for the loving care of very special family members.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 7, at the North English Cemetery, with military rites. A reception with light refreshments will follow at the History Center.
