Elsie Marilyn Kolosik, 85, of Springville, Iowa, passed away Saturday, May 8, 2021, at the Villages of Marion. Per her wishes, she was cremated and a private family viewing was held. A memorial service for family and friends of Marilyn and her husband Vance, who preceded her in death in November 2019, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 5, at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Iowa Cremation is entrusted with the arrangements.
Marilyn was born March 6, 1936, in Rose Hill, Iowa, the daughter of Harry O. (Doc) and Zelpha Mae (Phillips) Fowler. She graduated from Millersburg High School and later married the love of her life Vance on June 2, 1956, in North English, Iowa. Marilyn and Vance shared 63 years together, much of it spent in Springville, Iowa, in their garden and serving their Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
She is survived by her children, Dan Kolosik, Janene (David) Hunt, Melinda (Scott) Owen, Kristyn (John) Ryan and Lyle (Becky) Kolosik, 12 grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren; and a brother, James Fowler.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; two brothers, Ivan and Jerrold Fowler; her sister, Betty Grimm; and two infant brothers, Gene and Dean Fowler.
