Elsie Ann Erlacher, 95, of Cedar Rapids, died Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at Northbrook Manor Care Center from natural causes. Services: 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 15, by Deacon Paul Zimmerman at Teahen Funeral Home. Burial: Mount Calvary Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Teahen Funeral Home and after 9 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Elsie is survived by her son, David (Mary Lou) Erlacher of Cedar Rapids; three grandsons, Matthew (Jolene) Erlacher of Pinehurst, N.C., Bradley (Jennifer) Erlacher of Cedar Rapids and Jeffrey (Marisol) Erlacher of Denver, Colo.; five great-grandchildren; niece, Judy Matias of Cedar Rapids; and many other nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Laurence; her parents; two sisters, Blanche Hach and infant sister Dorthea Novotny; and special friend, Francis Hurych.
Elsie Ann was born Feb. 10, 1920, in Clutier, the daughter of John and Anna Konicek Novotny. She graduated from Clutier High School in 1937 and then attended business school in Davenport for one year. On May 6, 1946, she married Laurence F. Erlacher in Davenport. Elsie worked as an administrative assistant for Northbrook Manor Care Center for 27 years.
Elise was a member of CRIABWA, part of the ABWA Cedar Rapids chapter. She enjoyed spending her time reading and gardening.
