Elsie Alice Mishleau, 100, of Florida, formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2018, in her home. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 22, at Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre, located at 2121 Bowling St. SW in Cedar Rapids. Burial will be held at Anderson Cemetery near Swisher. Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday, Feb. 21, from 3 to 8 p.m. at Brosh Chapel.
Elsie was born Nov. 24, 1917, in Iowa City, the daughter of George and Della Dhouly. She married George Klimesh, and they later were divorced. She then married Phillip Mishleau in 1972. She was a dishwasher for many years at Eli's Restaurant on the corner of 16th Ave. and J St. SW. She loved sewing and watching Lawrence Welk and "The Joy of Painting" with Bob Ross. Elsie enjoyed going on long walks and liked to go on car rides and travel.
Elsie is survived by her children, Carol Shaffer, Darlene Jones, Larry (Linda) Klimes, Shirley Kurth and Richard Klimes; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren and great-great-great-grandchildren; and sister, Betty Ann Ham.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Phillip; and son, LaVerne Klimes.
