Elnora Elaine Jordan (Bay Bay), 74, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away peacefully in her home on the morning of June 17, 2024. A visitation will be held from 1 - 4 p.m. on Saturday, June 22, 2024, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Cedar Rapids. Burial: Fairview Cemetery, Atmore, Alabama.
Elnora was born August 5, 1949, in Atmore, Alabama, to Nancy Cavanaugh and Lankford Jordan. She loved to dance, sing, and help others. Elnora had a vibrant personality that lit up any room, making her the life of the party. She had a huge heart, and to know her was to love her with all crazy fun things she’s said and done.
Growing up in Atmore, Alabama, with her mom, dad, siblings, and grandparents, she lived a very humble life and was always willing to share her experiences and hardships with her family. The life lessons Elnora learned were passed on to all of us, instilling in us strong morals, values, and a deep understanding of the meaning of family. She had a passion for dressing sharply and acquiring nice things. Elnora loved spending time with her family and having huge family gatherings. As the last of her generation of siblings, she now leaves us her legacy to carry forward.
Grandma Bay will be loved, missed, and cherished by her kids, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, friends, and extended family. We will cherish all the memories and laughs in our hearts forever.
She is survived by her five children, Victor Jordan (Carla Jordan), Quanda Ankum, Kendrick Ankum (Keshia Ankum), Demenick Ankum (Maria Binger), Mickey Ankum (Angela Bowers); over 20 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her late husband, William Johnson; stepson, William Conley Johnson, Jr.; her mother and father; siblings; and extended family members.
Please share a memory of Elnora at www.murdochfuneralhome.com under obituaries.
