Elmer John "Johnny" Hessenius III, 42, of Cedar Rapids, died Wednesday, March 30, 2016. Services: 3 p.m. Monday, April 4, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Visitation: 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, April 3, at the Legacy Center at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home. Burial: Walker Cemetery, Walker.
Johnny was born Sept. 28, 1973, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, son of Elmer and Betty (Perry) Hessenius Jr. He worked for JRS Pharma.
Johnny loved riding his Harley whenever he could. He also loved his dog, Raven. Johnny was an avid fan of the Oakland Raiders and Roughriders hockey.
He will be missed by all of his friends and family.
Survivors include his siblings, Greg Cousins, Mervyn Cousins and Ted Cousins, all of Cedar Rapids, Vera (Dean) Cummings and Deb (Loren) Ellis, both of Independence, Char Brandau of Urbana and Kathy Benton, Lori (Greg) Knockle and Jackie Cousins, all of Cedar Rapids; and several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial fund had been established at Collins Community Credit Union in Johnny's name; donations may be made there.
